Well RJ is doing a lil better today. He's still pretty tuckered out still. His nurse said he barely opened his eyes once today during his cares and then closed them quickly. :) The nurse practitioner said he had better color today and overall looked better. The team decided to d/c the antibiotics. Since he's been so dingy with his sats and desating some, they've decided to split his caffeine dose so he has some every 12 hrs. The caffeine helps preemies breathe. He's still making a lot of secretions which is causing him to desat, so they had taken a sample of his nose secretions I believe yesterday. They are waiting on those results. The nurses called it a snog test. I'm not sure if that is the real medical test name or their nickname for it. :) They are thinking that maybe he has a cold. The nurse said he's slowly perking up today. I'm hoping that all the sleep he's getting will help him be more himself by tomorrow. We haven't been able to hold him at all this weekend. :( His nurse today said his HR was down in the 140's when I called this morning. Thankfully it's trending down. Thanks for all the extra prayers over the past couple days. I think we are pulling out of our lil slump. Oh I keep forgetting to mention that RJ's gaining weight!! He was 2lb 14oz the other night!!! Almost to the 3lb mark!! That's a positive for sure. I think that's about it for now. Till next time...
