April 23, 2013 Take 2:
Today was RJ's first Pediatrician appt. Having a preemie you get much quicker service. They don't want him out in the general waiting room with all the sick kids. His doctor gave him a glowing report. On the scale in the office he weighs 5 lb 11.5 oz. We will go back again next Monday and will get another weight. That will give us a more accurate idea if the weight is right or not, since they use different scales in the hospital. Oh I forgot to mention that RJ passed his hearing test while in the NICU. He actually passed it really quick which was awesome!! Sometimes, the nurses said, it takes quite awhile for the babies to pass and they have to take it multiple times. Our lil guy is a trooper for sure!!
It was quite the task to get our lil man ready for the doctors and then get into the office w/ all his extra equipment. :) Thankfully I had help from my mother. :) Welp, my eyes are not going to stay open much longer. It's just so wonderful not having to drive into the hospital every day anymore. Home feels sooo wonderful. :)
Thank you so much for all the prayers, love, and support!!! Keep them up!!! We want RJ to grow stronger and be able to get off the oxygen, apnea monitor, and get rid of the NG tube. One last thought. I can't believe that tomorrow is RJ's actual due date. Crazy how time has it's own agenda.
Thanks Shellie! You are an amazing writer!! Love you, Dad.
