July 8, 2013 Take 2:

Our lil man is growing up!!

Oh boy, I love LOVE seeing these pictures of him CORDLESS and out in the world. No more hospitals and confinement. You all are a lovely family and he really is a miracle. He's come so far!

Baby Background

Robert James McLennan A.K.A. RJ Born: 1-17-2013 Weight: 1 lb 12 oz Height: 13.1 inches . He was intubated for the first couple wks and then on 2-2-2013 he was extubated and placed on NIPPV (non-invasive positive pressure ventilation), a special nasal cannula that delivers extra oxygen and helps him breath. He has a PICC in his left arm that allows delivery of TPN and lipids. He has a tube in his mouth that delivers my previously pumped breast milk into his stomach. He has IV's that are placed in order to give him blood, antibiotics, and other medications. He has recovered and had removed the 2 chest tubes he had placed right after birth due to bilateral pneumothorax's. Once his umbilical IV line was removed and they placed the PICC I was able to start Kangaroo Care (holding our lil monkey). Being able to hold our baby is the most precious thing and helps reality sink in that we are actually parents.
